WINGS Independent Fashion Festival returns this May as a month-long residency at The Metro Social, expanding into a weekly program of runway, performance and sound.

Each Wednesday, two designers transform the space through immersive presentations that move beyond the traditional runway, integrating live music, art and installation into a continuous experience.

The 2026 residency features A-D ATELIER, BAAQIY, LANTERNA, PIGSUIT, RÉSEAU, SHIYO, SPEED and WIERD WORLD ORDER, bringing together a new wave of designers who challenge the conventions of fashion presentation, extending beyond the garment into fully realised worlds where runway becomes performance.

Lanterna channels a hyper-feminine and unapologetically sensual energy through its signature micro silhouettes. Designed by Carolina Lanterna and handmade in Sydney, the label moves fluidly between swimwear and nightlife, celebrating the body as both subject and statement.

SHIYO, founded by Shiva Yousefpour, brings an avant-garde and materially driven perspective, blending Persian heritage with Japanese craftsmanship. Through zero-waste design, upcycling and sculptural construction, each piece reflects a commitment to sustainability and experimental form.
