GRAMMY® Award-nominated progressive metal quintet Periphery are headed back to Australia next March, bringing their new album A Pale White Dot to life on stages across the country for a six-date headline tour. Supporting them on all dates will be Sydney modern metalcore outfit Inertia. Tickets go on sale Thursday, 10 September at 9am local time via Destroy All Lines.
The upcoming tour marks the band’s return down under following their 2024 appearance at Monolith Festival. The tour kicks off on Monday, 8 March at Astor Theatre in Perth, before making stops at The Gov in Adelaide, Forum in Melbourne, Metro Theatre in Sydney and The Basement in Canberra, before wrapping up at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Wednesday, 17 March.
Formed nearly two decades ago, Periphery—Misha Mansoor [guitar, programming], Jake Bowen [guitar, programming], Matt Halpern [drums], Spencer Sotelo [vocals] and Mark Holcomb [guitar]—have spent their career diligently reshaping, recharging and redefining themselves. The band’s signature sound has evolved like any living, breathing organism would, gaining complexity and strength through life experience. From their 2010 self-titled debut through to 2023’s Periphery V: Djent Is Not a Genre, the band have built a reputation for mind-blowing instrumentation, immersive soundscape architecture, cathartically crushing vocals and cosmically catchy melodies. But you’ll also find emotional acuity, raw humanity and a level of relatability that could only come from a group of brothers who have effectively gone through it all.
Periphery have charged ahead at lightspeed since the 2010 release of their self-titled debut LP. Along the way, they picked up a GRAMMY® Award nomination for “Best Metal Performance”, notched three consecutive Top 25 debuts on the Billboard 200, clocked hundreds of millions of streams and sold out shows across multiple continents.
Supporting Periphery across Australia will be Sydney-siders Inertia. Described by Rolling Stone Australia as “one of Australia’s most compelling heavy acts right now”, Inertia have forged their path as one of the acts to watch in the global heavy scene. They tightened their grip on modern metalcore with the release of their debut album Second Shadow.
The quartet bend and break the boundaries of their genre, targeting fans of Loathe, Spiritbox and Thornhill, with flashes of SZA and The Weeknd. The band bring elements of dark pop and soul to the forefront as they explore the darkest corners of metal music, adding their own sprinkling of emo pop.
