Korea’s multi-talented artist (producer, rapper, and actor) GIRIBOY is coming to Australia for the first time this October for his GROOVE DOWN UNDER Tour.
GIRIBOY debuted with his Single ‘You Look So Good To Me’ in 2011 under Linchpin Music (Just Music) and further proved his skills in lyric writing, producing, arranging, rap and vocals through his first EP ‘Fatal Album.’ He released his first studio album ‘Sensual Album’ in 2014 and also competed in the biggest Korean survival series ‘Show Me The Money.’ Later in 2018, 2019 and 2020, he returns to the show, not as a competitor, but as a producer and judge.
Being awarded The Year’s Producer Award in 2019 and 2020 Korean Hiphop Awards, GIRIBOY has continued to showcase his musicality and creative presence as an artist. At one point in his career, all the songs in his studio album would be topping charts in Melon, Korea’s biggest music streaming platform. He collaborates with trending artist such as YUNHWAY, JUSTHIS, HEIZE, BIG Naughty, Jay Park and has also expanded to K-Drama OSTs. GIRIBOY’s spectrum in music ranges from Hiphop to Indie, Ballad, Dance, R&B, Soul, Blues, Rock, Jazz, Pop and more. As his producing is not limited to one genre, a bigger audience engages in his music. Listeners know that when GIRIBOY’s signature sound “G. R. BOY” opens a track, there’s something great coming.
The name GIRIBOY comes from the phrase “See the road/way” in Korean and he admits the name has allowed him to actually see the pathway for his career. This is undeniable as GIRIBOY’s audience grew from underground Hiphop fans to millions of major listeners. Not only is he the CEO of WEDAPLUGG RECORDS, he runs his own fashion bran I4P and has now also begun a career in acting, again being applauded for his character presentation.
