Forming in 2001, Deerhunter quickly became recognised in Atlanta’s thriving music scene for their ability to fuse the lulling hypnotic states induced by ambient and minimalist music with the klang and propulsion of garage rock. Today, with fans worldwide they are the unchallenged tenants of pop avant‐garde, aptly described by Drowned in Sounds as “a precarious algorithm of pedal guitars, drums, and bedroom experimentation few bands manage to attain.”
In 2009 Deerhunter toured Australia, playing multiple sold-out shows along the East Coast. In 2011, they return to finish what they started, playing all of the Laneway Festival 2011 dates as well as a headlining show at The Metro in Sydney.
