For one night only, the who’s who of our greatest homegrown guitarists will be paying homage to the music and legacy of Jimi Hendrix. Coinciding with the 40th Anniversary of his death, this will be the first time ever in Australia that a massive tribute concert has been performed to celebrate the memory of Hendrix and the music he left behind.
Sharing the one stage will be 10 brilliant guitarists, who will each be performing their own take on the music written and inspired by Jimi Hendrix. Sharing the bill will be, Nathan Cavaleri (Jimmy Barnes, Diesel), Kevin Borich, Randall Waller (Keith Urban, Shania Twain), Bob Spencer (Skyhooks, The Angels), Grant Walmsley (Screaming Jets), Peter Northcote, Dave Leslie (Baby Animals), Chris Kamzelas (Richard Clapton), Steve Edmonds (Jimmy Barnes) and Phil Emmanuel. Our featured guitarists will be accompanied by a stellar rhythm section consisting of Mick Skelton (The Angels / Baby Animals) and Dario Bortolin (INXS).
Both new and veteran fans alike will be thrilled to hear Hendrix classics, including All Along the Watchtower, Fire, Hey Joe, Foxy Lady, Wind Cries Mary, Castles Made of Sand, Purple Haze and Voodoo Chile. To make the evening that much more memorable, there will be two almighty jam sessions at the end of each set performed by various combinations of our featured musicians.
‘I’m really looking forward to playing Experience Jimi Hendrix because the chance to play Jimi’s material is always so much of a BLAST!!’, says Kevin Borich, one of the legendary artists who will be gracing the Enmore stage. ‘The Crowds keep comin! – he was and still is THE MAN – The complete Artist!’
When asked how he felt to be a part of the show, Nathan Cavaleri concurred with Borich. ‘How could I not have been involved? Any excuse to play my favourite Hendrix songs LOUD. I’m also flattered to be up there with some of Australia’s best guitarists – giddy up!’
