The Cribs are unable to make their planned trip to Australia in the New Year as the band is currently holed up in the studio working on their 4th album.
The frontier touring co are proud to announce that The Temper Trap will replace The Cribs as special guests for the Franz Ferdinand for their show at the Enmore Theatre.
Glasgow lads Franz Ferdinand are set to return to Sydney’s Enmore Theatre in 2009 – their first in two years.
Franz have been bunkered down in a studio since late 2007, however the release of single ‘Lucid Dreams’ (taken from their forthcoming album Tonight: Franz Ferdinand) has broken the silence and set the music world abuzz. Taking on a feel slightly skewed towards what some folks call ‘dance’ while retaining Franz Ferdinand’s indie trademark, the track has whet the appetites of Franz fans hanging for the 2009 release of Tonight: Franz Ferdinand.
Produced by Dan Carey (Kylie Minogue, Fatboy Slim, CSS, Sia), Tonight: Franz Ferdinand is one of the most anticipated releases of recent years. Their first release since 2005’s thrilling You Could Have It So Much Better, Franz Ferdinand will showcase the long-awaited new material during this tour, cementing these shows as must sees for fans of the band.
Red Riders will open the shows in each city. The Sydney band is currently working on the follow-up to their acclaimed debut album Replica Replica. They’ve been writing songs all year and are set to enter the studio later this year to record their highly anticipated second album (due for release in 2009 through Ivy League Records). Live, the Red Riders are a force to be reckoned with, and with the promise of new material on this tour, they’re worth arriving on time for.
