Witness Festival is an all ages event that will help raise funds for the children of Rwanda through the ‘Hands for Hope’ project……Featuring: All ManKind, EL Shaddai Crew, Angelas Dish, Playjerise, Lukas, Nikki Kummerow and New Empire.

‘Hands for Hope’ is a project being run by Australia’s second longest serving organisation Bible Society NSW and is partnered with African Enterprise.
The project focuses on reconciling, educating and empowering the children of Rwanda.

The educational material is Scripture based. The reason for this is that any political and power movements can restrict education, therefore stripping the people of empowerment in 3rd world countries. However the Bible is used as the tool base for the education and is protected for use by Article 18 of the United Nations Declaration. This enables the education and reconciliation to occur for the children.

“There are over 2.2 million children in Rwanda who will benefit from our ‘Hands of Hope’ project to help them deal with the aftermath of the 1994 genocide,” said Amiee McCahon, Bible Society’s Events Manager. “Whilst the children didn’t experience the trauma of the civil war, they are growing up in a country that still carries the scars. Our ‘Hands for Hope’ project uses educational material based on reconciliation and forgiveness. The project reaches children in primary schools” said Amiee.
