“With punchy horns and rhythm aplenty, this was an ensemble that portrayed sheer enjoyment in their music making. Rhythms veered between dub, ska and funk, the song-based material was uplifting, but their best moments came on their riotous ska excursions, one largely instrumental and powered by bassist Tim Jaray.” Music OMH London

With their anticipated fourth studio album Solid Ground due for release in Australia, on October 4th, The Black Seeds would like to announce their Australian Solid Ground Album Tour.

The first taste of the new album is the heavy-hitting, karma inspired track Slingshot, currently receiving strong airplay in New Zealand and Europe, Slingshot, will be presented to Australian radio this week along with the new video clip. Slingshot will be available as a digital download in Australia through iTunes & other digital outlets, from September 8th 2008.

To support the new album, The Black Seeds return to Australia in early October with their renowned, 8-piece live show. The band will get to Australia road weary and musicall tight, fresh from a sold out, 23-show European tour to support the release of Solid Ground through the Sonar Kollektiv label.

Solid Ground is the follow-up to The Black Seeds’ third album Into The Dojo, which spent 5 weeks at #1, and reached well over double-platinum sales in New Zealand, as well as garnering the band critical acclaim abroad.

Solid Ground was recorded with Dr Lee Prebble at The Surgery Studio in Wellington and has come off the back of two years of extensive international live touring.
